Welcome!
I am currently a Professor in Kent State University's School of Information.

My research interests converge at the intersection of books and technology in new literary formats and include:
  • Young people's social reading and the multi-literacies required to interpret non-linear, multimodal, digital-age books;
  • Publishing for young readers, genre construction and the commodification of books, international and diverse children’s literature and librarianship, transnational publishing;
  • Youth services librarianship;
  • Children’s information seeking behavior in everyday settings;
  • Gendered professions within publishing and librarianship for young readers.
