Welcome!
I am currently an Associate Professor in Kent State University's School of Information.

My interdisciplinary research, grounded in Library & Information Science and Media Studies, converges at the intersection of books and technology in new literary formats, from picture book apps to multi-platform books, and includes:
  • Fandom and participatory literary experiences;
  • Affective and immaterial labor;
  • User-generated content and “remix” books;
  • Multi-literacies required to interpret non-linear, multimodal, digital-age books;
  • Publishing for young readers, genre construction and the commodification of books, international children’s literature, and transnational publishing;
  • Youth services librarianship, reviews, awards, the literary canon and arbiters of taste;
  • Children's information seeking behavior in everyday settings;
  • History of children's publishing and librarianship, and the gendered professions within . . .
